yeah, thats a boxers break....what did the dr say about it?
the upside is a boxers break is usually "clean" and heals very well
is there obvious swelling, bruising or deformity?
let me put it like this, can you grip things? can you pick up say...a full coffe mug with out pain? can you balance something across your finger tips with palm up? can you grip something fairly small between your thumb and pinkie? what are you going to do if the weight starts to get away from you?
I would limit working out that involves hands/arms to machines where the pressure is limited to the heel of your palm..and even then youre playing with giving yourself problems for a very long time
bone is extremely sharp..if it moves and starts cutting things in its path..its gonna suck
a true "stress fracture" is usually a repetitive motion fracture...think...feet in bad shoes and constant walking while carrying something heavy with poor bone density...the treatment is usually an air cast and no weight bearing...for 4-6 weeks
best I can say is check out what dr google says about a boxers break so you better understand what type of fracture it is and accompanying treatment/problems..and obv refer to your dr as the final authority
hows the other guy look?
p.s. who won the fight if you cant work out ...dont fight
