It was.. eh...... ok! Learned a litte... disagreed on a little

one of my first big disagreement is ... You should not be sore. HMMMM! Then I'm doing something all wrong  Training specific to each person.. yea yea... whatever! That part I understand, but you have to every now and again push your body. Up the weights, intensity, duration.. RIGHT? And just like you first workout... You will be sore. I know that you can't always use soreness to judge, but hell I'm sore after every workout.

Then goes the Nutrition.... and if I go by their standards I should be taking in right around 3K cals a day..... :worried: in which I should only consume protein at most 2x my bw in Kilos... WHOA.. am I way over that. LOL The diet outlined also has carbs as my #1 source with protein and fat trailing behind.

They talked nothing of quanity of meals a day.. nor what I would consider a good macro ratio.

Eh.. all in all... I learned a little about Kinesiology, and endurance testing... she had a good session for us to try. One other thing she touched on that was good was communication skills and pre screening clients. Knowing each individual enough to know what is or isn't 'right' for them.

Oh and she told me I can't call them a wuss or a baby when they complain... and tell them to suck it up  This is where I will have the most issues.. hee hee

yeah well......thats the standard info these days...same thing when I was cert 10 years ago

I know that when I went through ACE they covered things pretty well including biomechanics, kineisiology, phys of ex, communication and fitness for special populations, health problems and contraindications. The one thing they did not really cover was proper nutrition and they stresed to us that unless we obtain another certification in nutrition or have a degree in dietics or nutrition that legally under our PT certification we could not offer nutritional advice if someone was a paying client. I thought it was stupid since pretty much everyone knows that nutrition is key in just about any goal you choose to obtain, no matter if you are trying to bulk, lose bodyfat, are diabetic-plus diet is one of the most common topics that clients usually ask me about. I've started learning more about nutrition on my own other than the basics and have contemplated on adding a weight managment cert or nutrition cert to my belt, but in the end I just think its another way for them to make money off of us.
