question for Mr.X

i've got this book entitled 'The Food Bible' and it tells you everything about 90% of all foods (carbs, fat, protein, fibre...etc) and i looked up beer to see what was in it and it said that in a 275ml serving there were 88 calories, none of them were protein, none of them were fat, the only thing that it says is in beer is carbs and it says that there are 6.3g of carbs. I read somewhere that 1g of carbs was equal to about 3-4 carbs so with this in mind, the 6.3 x 4 = 25 (roughly), so i was wondering where the remaining 63 or so carbs go.
Any help would be much appreciated as i like a couple of beers before i go to bed, i am taking T-rex and it stops me from sleeping so the couple of beers really helps but if it means putting on weight then i'll stop drinking them.
Thanx alot!

I think you mean to say that there are 4 calories in one gram of carbs.

The remaining calories come from alcohol (yup, alcohol has calories). Beer isn't the greatest choice if you're trying to lose weight (or gain lean muscle for that matter). Once in awhile isn't going to hurt - but a couple beers a night is probably a little too much.

a couple of beers before you go to bed is a really bad idea. You might want to look into other ways of helping you sleep.

Try melatonin, Tylenol pm (on occassion), or some other sleep aid.

Using beer is like eating Capn Crunch for your source of protein.

it isn't just about me getting to sleep though, i'm really curious as to 'what' and 'where' these "lost" calories are.
Thanx
