PWO...this is really sweet!

PWO...this is really sweet...and a PWO calorie question

1/4 cup dextrose, 1/4 cup maltodextrin and 40g whey. This drink is sweet as hell! Any sweeter and I would be gagging.
Do I have the mixture right? Is it supposed to be this sweet?

Also, and this might sound like a VERY stupid question, but this PWO shake is about 400 calories. Can I just assume that I add these calories to my daily intake? In other words, the PWO will replace a meal? Or do those calories go completely toward restoring muscle glycogen and I go ahead and eat the 6-7 meals that I would normally eat on top of the PWO?
Thanks for any advice. If this is a stupid question, feel free to let me know that also. ;)

How many grams of malto and dex are in 1/4 cup? if you got the proportions right... simply add more water.

and Yup, you have to count the cals, prot and carbs in that shake (there is no fat in it, right? right???)

Nope. No fat. Just protein and carbs. Not sure how many grams are in 1/4 cup of malto or dex. I will find out and post it though. Unless someone else knows and posts it before me.

Take the guessing out of the equation and get a digital scale... the best 30 bucks (or cheaper) you could invest.

After measuring mine:

1 measuring Tbsp Dex: 12 grs (flat)
1 measuring Tbsp Malto: 10grs (flat)

1 C. of dextrose has 100 grams of carbs. So 1/4 C. has 25 grams.

are you sure your calculations are right for dex? Ive always been told, and have gone by, 1/2c of dex =75g, in your cals that would only = 50g.

I do have a kitchen scale. Just never weighed the dex...until now.

1/4 cup = about 40 g

You cutting or bulking?

the formulas for calculating the right amount of carbs/prot differ depending on that.
