PWO shake question

Yes, my understanding is that you can't replace pure maltodextrin with something like splenda - because the molecular structure of the malto in such products is chemically altered (with chlorine I believe) which does not allow it to be digested in the same way (as pure malto).

Ah, that explains it then... Looks like I'll have to search harder for pure maltodextrin. For the time being though, I'll just mix 4 parts of dextrose to 1 part of whey.

All this is very interesting. Where do I get Dextrose and Malta? So a good pwo shake would be 10-12 oz water, mixed with 1/4c dex, 1/4c malto and 40g's of whey, correct?

Any health food or supplement store should have both dextrose and maltodextrin. I have seen 100% pure malto in many stores with a label calling it 'Carbo Gain' by Now Sports.

Also, I often find that having the exact same PWO shake as my PRE-WO shake boosts my workout energy. I am not sure if this is problematic interms of not burning my fat for energy or whatnot. However, it does fill me up through out my training and I can train better.

Is this a problem?

1 out of 5 right now...are not considered to have any degree of insulin resistance...for the other 4 out of 5....spiking would be like owning a radio (how your body deals w/insulin)....when your 10, the volume works well, at 20, you have to turn it a little louder...then one day, who knows when .... each time sugars are ingested (cummulatively, even in small amounts), the body has to increase the volume louder and louder...literally flood the body w/insulin to deal w/small amonts of sugar (or even sweet tastes from sugar free products...gums, sodas, jello...etc).....insulin stops lipolysis cold, promotes lipogenesis...the excess insulin itself converting to a di-saccharide/gylcerol and then adipose...

Now for that one out of 5 (use to be out of 3, then out of 4 ) .....sure it feels good, and it works to stiffle catabolism (the food on our Programs work very well also, as does glutamine and BCAA's )...replaces glycogen double speed as per studies (but 24 hour nutrition works equally as well...just in 24 hours)..
