Nightime shake with ANPB?

Ok if i have a protein shake at night as my last meal I have been told to add a serving of ANPB,if I add skim milk to the shake wouldnt it cause a insulin spike?Im just wondering because it would taste a lot better with skim milk instead of water. :Chef:

Yes adding ANPB as a fat would be good for slowing digestion. Skim milk... not sure, how many carbs/sugar, ect are in it? I belive it'd just be added calories over the water and more protein otherwise.

Flax seed oil or Udo's Choice oil would do the same as adding ANPB, fats slowing digestion. Your choice what healthy fats to add.

i dont think adding 12g of carbs (1 cup of skim) to 40-60g of protein and 4-8g of efa's (anpb) will spike your insulin levels. the protein and fat should lower the overall GI enough.

Shit i have one everynight.

2 scoops of ANPB and some SKIM Milk. But im bulking, and i respond well to ALot of Dairy, some people make a fuss about dairy and the bloat. But i feel if the drink fits into your macros by the end of the day you should be fine.

Did you ever think about Cassein Protein for Bed time? I tried it, but didnt like the way it took forever to blend.

I wouldn't be shy about the skim milk unless you were trying to strictly manage calories. Lactose doesn't have a terribly high GI, so there isn't really a "spike" in the first place. The insulin response can be adequately managed just by using casein in the shake (I like ON 100% casein myself). ANPB will further stem the insulin response, making for a nice late night meal.

If you're still worried after all that, pop a glucorell-r to manage the effects of the insulin. No reason to drink a nasty water shake if you prefer milk (as long as you are comfortable with the extra cals).
