Need Help With Modified HST Training....

If you want to train each muscle group once every six days, yet want to have a good routine that works like HST or DFHT, then you're not on the right track.

5x5 might be more suitable for your wants, though I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss DFHT. It looks like a very solid program.

..I'm really getting frustrated trying to customize my own routine. I've read the articles on the HST training and the dual hytro. training and I like and dislike ceratin things fro meach. I do want to try something different from the same old working each muscle group once every six days, but am unablt to come up with anything I really like. I love doing ceratin exercises like deads, bench, shoulder presses, but can't really see doing them all in the same day twice a week. I fanybody has any good routines that works like the HST please reply.

I said I've always trained in the past each muscle once every six days. Thats's the point, I want to go away from this style.

My mistake, I misread your post :)

What about "Old-School" or DC training? They'll have you doing the main movements you like, and they're split up quite a bit. I assume its hypertrophy you're after? Both are good for that.

Tzan, the best thing to do is just abandon the preconceptions you may harbor, and jump into it with an open mind. It may turn out to be the best thing you've ever decided to commit to, training-wise.

Do the compunds you like as often as is advocated by the routine, even if you are worried.

Give it Hell, man.

For me that's one of the positives of HST. I pick my favorite movements and get to do them frequently.

OK I've been playing around a bit and here is what I've come up with so far(I haven't even gotten to lower body yet).

Mon-Upperbody
Tues-Lowerbody
Wed-Off
Thur-Upperbody
Fri-Lowerbody
Sat-Off
Sun-Off

Mon(upperbody)
3x Incline Barbell
3x Weighted Dips
Pullups
3x Bentover Rows
3x DB Press
3x DB Side Raises
4x Skullcrushers
4x Incline DB Curls

Thur(upperbody#2)
3x Deads
3x Pulldowns
3x Flat Bench
3x Flys
3x DB Press
3x Side Raises
3x Barbell Curls
3x Decline DB Extensions

I know it seems like a lot of volume, but if I do it like I have it above it's actually less sets the I'm doing now when I work each muscle once per week. What do you think about my exercise selection and the order I have them in??

Looks okay, except that I'd drop volume on arms (bis/tris/shoulders) seeing as they already take a beating on the compound lifts. Maybe 1-2 sets each instead of 3-4.

Thats exactlt what I was thinking. Anyone else??
