Lower Back Pain While Running?

Toshendin

I started the 8 Week Old School program 2 weeks ago, and ever since then, I've been having pain in my lower back while running. Intense Running for 5k (Cross Country Competition Training). It's really hindered my performance. No doubt that this is from the Deadlifts, but does anyone have any advice or comments?

Not sure if it's a good idea for you to do Corn's program and still run those kinds of distances regularly. I don't see them working real well together.

how long have you been running for? Every time I start running again I'd have to break myself in for a while because my back would bother me. Eventually I'd be fine. Plus I'd do a lot of lowerback and glute stretches, those help a lot.

Started training in January, but I've run the year before, and before that, so I'm expeienced.. I'll try stretching the back a little more and see how that goes..

The season's almost over, so I'll just stick with it. Been on corns program for 2 weeks now, so no need to quit now..

you might want to re-evaluate the way you run. sometimes when I run, my upper body tends to lean forward instead of staying upright or laying back a little. also, having strong torso muscles and good posture lessen back pain from running.
