I have lost 6 pounds in 4 days. ???? I had gotten in the habit of eating junk and now I have been eating super clean. Usually:

Meal 1: 1/2 c. egg beaters/two flaxseed oil caplets
Meal 2: chicken and veggies with no salt or butter
Meal 3: packet of garlic or smoked flavor tuna
Meal 4: 4 almonds/munchies carrot sticks or celery
Meal 5: Chicken or fish (no oil) and a yam (no butter)
Meal 6: I'm having a hard time fitting this one in ???

I guess I'm just losing lots of water from not eating salt. I'm not used to eating so much food! I can't believe I am losing weight while eating this much. I hate protein drinks!!! YUCK! I have heard people say they mix it with pudding and like it. I tried mixing it into fat free/sugar free pudding and I threw it away! It made the pudding not at all creamy. It's hard to stomach when mixing it with water. It is a little better with skim milk but I don't want the carbs/dairy. Anyone else have this problem?

:D

Great job, keep it up! It's Great when people post things like this to show the others, when you eat, eat often, and eat clean, you CAN lose weight instead of starving yourself.

Great job Heather!

I stay away from pudding ... can't comment there :D

Yea, the pudding was great the first time I tried it - it was actually my post-show cheat last year. But now it tastes a bit sterile to me. (I don't get it anymore.)

Esp if with your "eating super clean" you've cut out a lot of carbs & processed food, you will dump more water as carbs require water to hold them. If you are essentially doing a bit of a carb deplete relative to what your "bad" diet was, you will drop the water.

Just looking at your posted diet, you are only eating 1 serving of complex carb (yam) - I don't know the portion size but that amounts to probably 80g of carb or less. Plus if you are running that same diet for 4+ days? You are essentially "low carbing". Probably a drop in total cal intake as well.

Watch if you start to feel rundown or tired in the next few days -- you might want to add a complex carb like old-fashioned oats (oatmeal) with meal 1 or another 3-4 oz yam at meal 2. You don't have to add it in for every day, but you should increase your complex carb intake at least every 3 days otherwise you will experience some depletion of energy as you start riding the edge of ketosis.

Thanks Bunny! You gals on here have really inspired me to be healthy again. I had been really into working out in undergrad and was very fit and thin. Then, in law school for some weird reason I starved myself down to around 100 lbs. The scary thing is that despite the fact that I was bony, people kept telling me I was doing great and to keep going!!!! That is insane! I can tell you I was verging on anorexia! That was so stupid of me. I will never abuse my body like that again! Then after law school I let lots of weight creep on when I went through a divorce, the stress of work, and my mother dying of cancer.

I have turned over a new leaf though and am putting my health first! =-)

FANTASTIC!!!

Sorry to hear about your moms H ... :rose:

Thanks Sassy! Yes, I have been reading your posts on carb cycling. As of yet, I am feeling more energized on this diet than before because I don't have the hills and valleys of sugar spiking. I will try adding in the old fashioned oats with my eggs in the morning. I actually LOVE oats!

I actually flip the breakfast thing and do 4 egg whites, 1/2 cup oatmeal and 1 tbsp peanut butter as my last meal of the day and it's work well for me...I drop the PB when it's time to get ready for shows...just a thgouht.
