Ok sorry for the dumb question boys and girls, but im just looking to solve a bet between my room mate and I. What do u think the results would be if all he ate was say 6 protein shakes through out the day. Lets say ISOPRO low carb, with either 1% milk or soy milk. As well as taking multi vitamins, and all the essentials, ie EFA's....blah blah. What do u think the results would be? Would one lose weight? currently hes about 5 11 185 works out 3 on 1 off. Trying to shed those last say 10 pounds. He eats fairly clean now, nothing ridiculous but were university students. Any just wonderng what yall think thanks

Protein shakes are supplemental, not mainstay. As far as losing weight, probably, given thats all you eat and your doing cardio.

see thats what i said, but he claims thats all hes gonna do is drink them for 10 days to see what happens, i think its kinda dumb but i just wanted some wisdom from the boards to give him

Its definitely not optimal, as i stay far far away from milk. To much sugar, taste like shit, makes me bloated. It really all boils down to the total calories. I just love food way tooo much to even think about doing that. He would get the same results from doing a diet consisting of chicken, lean meats, tuna, fish, eggs, and good complex carbs and good fats.

Calories in vs. calories out is what it's all about. I used to down a lot of protein shakes, I still use them, but real whole food protein sources are the cornerstones for me now.

He would starve to death.

Pretty much about the most idiotic idea I've heard diet wise on this board in a while.
