It came up in conversation when my husband and I first started dating in 1997. He told me I was the 4th woman he had slept with.

Fast forward to 2005 and we happened to be discussing parts of our past and he tells me about some of his escapades prior to us dating. I start adding and the number climbs WAYYYY past 4. So I mentioned that he had told me previously it had only been 4.

He says: "I told you that? Damn, that was GAME!"

And for the record... I wasn't mad. I laughed.

I'd imagine that once the number gets too high its a turn off to women, especially initially. How do you get around that? Just never fessing up? Or do you just under estimate?

I've been sexually active 11 years, only had 2 serious long term girlfriends that took up about 2 years each. That leave 7 years of almost casual sex... that can do some damage.

Also, on a side note that is somewhat related... since I'm jumping back into the dating scene I got STD tested. (I used to do this once a year before I got serious with my last girlfriend). Proud to say I am still clean on all counts.

Never exceed ten, seven or eight is always a safe number. What they don't know won't hurt them.
