Do all pros train like shit?

I was at a BB show on Sunday and they were selling videos in the foyer. One of those playing was El Sonbaty's latest "Nasser on the way Part III" . I sat around to watch for a while, and I'm pretty sure what I was seeing was not particularly good gym form or etiquette.

Firstly, he wore a weight belt the WHOLE time, even when doing bb curls etc.

Secondly, he THREW the weights down, or if he had no energy for that, just DROPPED them, CLUNK!

Third, he was cheating like crazy! His upper body looked like a pendulum on reverse grip bb curls, swaying back and forth. And he used a ton of body English on preacher curls.

Then he piled about 6 plates a side on a bar and proceeded to do some noisy quarter squats.

Then he had his spotter lift the weight for half the reps on incline overhead bb extensions.

And it looked to me like he wasn't resisting on the eccentric portion of most movements, just letting go, then lifting again.

Do I just have an untrained eye or is this guy giving people a really bad example of how to behave in a gym and work out safely and intensely?

(Oh, he was INTENSE, and my god is he strong and huge, but it just looked really bad ...)
 
I have the Dorian Yates training video "Blood and Guts". He uses strict form, and doesn't drop weights. I've seen a few clips from the Coleman video, and he'll drop huge weights from way up high. Didn't see enough to determine if his form was strict or not.

So I guess each guy is different. Or maybe they were just trying to be more impressive on their video by using big weights, and throwing shit around.
 
First its cool to drop weights...u should know that by now. Second the more weight u put on the bar the the better it looks for the people watching, Most of which will never know what correct form is so u can get away with it. And second nesser Is a super Jew so he can do what he likes.
 
Please watch the flames...towards anyone...please.

Dorian uses good form and doens't drop the weights...doesn't he own his gym? I wouldn't tolerate anyone dropping the weights in my gym...

In defense of the sloppy pro's

Firstly, he wore a weight belt the WHOLE time, even when doing bb curls etc.

"You should wear a belt also, if you barbell curl weights like that, to protect the spine"

Secondly, he THREW the weights down, or if he had no energy for that, just DROPPED them, CLUNK!

"That's why todays pro's are much bigger than arnold, he wasted too much calories putting the weights back in the rack"

Third, he was cheating like crazy! His upper body looked like a pendulum on reverse grip bb curls, swaying back and forth. And he used a ton of body English on preacher curls.

"Obviously squats and deadlifts are the king & the emperor of movements, because they are whole body movements, recruting lots of motor units, following this logic , doing reverse grip bb curls nasser style will build the whole body and improve your power clean as well!"

Then he piled about 6 plates a side on a bar and proceeded to do some noisy quarter squats.

"He don't want a bigger butt, just big quads"

Then he had his spotter lift the weight for half the reps on incline overhead bb extensions.

"Too get him past the sticking point"

And it looked to me like he wasn't resisting on the eccentric portion of most movements, just letting go, then lifting again.

"Nasser was in his plyometric phase"

Yes. . .Dorian Yates is the proud owner of Temple Gym in Birmingham, England. I have heard that his training is really clean, but heavy and intense. I would like to see it on video sometime.
 
Vortexx are you Nasser's brother or something??? Why are you standing up for him?? WIth all that bullshit you wrote you didnt prove anything....your reasoning was horrible for why he used shitty form. HAHAHAHAAH I love your reasoning as to why he swayed his whole body doing reverse barbell curls..."to improve his power clean" hahahahaa You ASSUMED everything in your post....nice going
