ive been working out for like a year and a couple mnths and just started working out with a couple of my friends . there hardcore lifters so i wanted to step it up and grow more so we did some deadlifts and my lower back is killing me .... i woke up in the morning with a bad pain and went to work my job is hard and long days ...man i woke up today with the worst pain ever had to call out and its not getting better!!!!! ive been putting a heat compress, icy hot, doans pills ...is there anything else i can do and about how long will the pain last??? im a landscaper and my job is on the line someone help.....:bigbuck:

This will happen the first few times you go heavy on deadlifts. You'll get less and less pain the more often you do them...

My guess is that you tried to keep up with your hardcore friends. Big mistake for a deadlift newbie, which you are learning right now. If you don't feel better by tomorrow, call a doc. You probably will though. But from now on, go light and watch your form. You need to ease yourself into this.

I think deads are the best overall lift, but unfortunately the most risky. If you lift with your ego, you will get fucked up and not be able to lift at all. Or, like gymtime said, you can ease into them and eventually surpass your buddies. Start really light, fuck what your friends are lifting.

oh they were lifting crazy pounds, i did go light but i guess not light enough..lol man if they hurt this bad that only tells you how effective they are....this was monday night now its wednesday afternoon and its still hurts like hell i hope it gets better i need my job.....any remedies????:chainsaw:

No remedies I know of other than time my friend. But keep doing what you're doing, that will help. Again, if you haven't improved by tomorrow, call a doc. You don't want to fuck with your back.

Train your abs. Full range sit ups will realign your spine.

Your back will strengthen...with time.

Do some light back extensions or reverse hypers if you have access. Get some blood in there.

Welcome to the world of deadlifts. I do them very regularly and I am still very sore from my session on Monday. Gotta love it!!

the pain will fade a little and you will get use to them but if I were you try to do them on fridays so you have the weekend to recover... Go a little lighter and make sure you stretch before and after.....;)
