biceps & triceps need help !!!

Hi everyone.

To me this is weird ! My biceps are really gaining some nice size & definition due to my training, eating, & my 2 fav. supplements Nitro-tech & Trac creatine.

My problem is when I flex, my biceps ae real full, hard & defined. but when my arms are relaxed I can shake my biceps like jello. they will feel real flabby. Plus, you can't even pinch any amount of fat on my arms. So I know fat is not covering up my muscles. But anyway, when flexing = Wow. it looks great ! my muscle is smack right there in my face.

Is this normal for them to feel soft & mushy when your arms are relaxed or in an odd position ?

Also. My triceps I feel are lagging behind. I mean they are there, but I want more definition & hardness in that area. Especially more width. I would love to have the arm width & thickness when I flex to the back of my arms permantly, not just when I flex.

Any suggestions for adding back of arm width & thickness ? enough but not too much.

Thanks :mix:

For me it's normal for my biceps to look soft when they're not flexed. Sucks I know, but it may just be genetic. Increasing the shoulder cap seems to help a little.

For triceps you can't beat good old fashioned dips IMHO. For an extra tricep workout try lifting your chest as high as you can at the top of each dip. This will also work you upper pecs quite nicely.

Dips and Skullcrushers (w/curlbar) are the best for MY triceps. :) Do a little more work for triceps than biceps - the tricep takes up more room on the arm (3 heads, instead of 2). So if you concentrate on building the tricep, your overall arm size will increase.

Normal for muscles to be soft when not flexed. There is a reason they call these states "relaxed" and "flexed". An overall reduction of BF may help this, but not necessarily.

I use to do dips on a fold up style chair when I was first starting out in bodybuilding. I would do like 2 sets of 20 every time there was a commercial on TV. It doesnt seem like much, especially with no extra weight, but after watching TV in one evening it really starts to add up. I used to do db curls like that also with say 35-40lbs. This really helped me bring up some of those lagging muscle groups. Some of that flabby feeling may be due to some intersticial water also. Maybe you are just holding a little extra unwanted water.

Best tricep exercises for me are close grip bench and skullcrushers. I added in cable tricep pushdowns at the end just to hit them a bit more. I could never do dips b/c of my shoulder (maybe after surgery I'll be able to :) )

How often do you train arms? do they include triceps exercises?

My guess is that you may still have some fat in your arms, that is why you can't see some definition.

Therefore, an adjustment in diet and training them more focused can do what you're expecting
