Why not chest, back and tris on same day? Take look at this example..

This is my plan:

Mon: chest, back, triceps
This is okay if you follow a type of low volume training like DC, but its fairly complex, so you need to research it. Until then, if you're doing conventional lifts, back and chest together will not work well. With conventional lifting routines, after I'm done with back, all I want to do is hook up an IV and go to sleep, forget about doing chest.

Tues: Biceps, forearms, abs
You shouldn't be doing bis the day after back. Also, you're wasting a lifting day by just doing bis and forearms. You'll never grow doing this.
Wed: Off

Thursday: legs

Friday: Calves, abs
Same deal as your bicep day. Do calves with legs, don't waste a rest day with calves alone.
Sat: Off

Sun: Off
Where's the shoulders? Too many people neglect shoulders, don't fall into the same trap bro.

i used to superset chest and back and it knocks you on your ass! i would recommend chest w tri and back w/ bi - but never hurts to have a chest/back day to shock the muscles. i like heavier movements like incline bench, deadlifts, close grip bench so i would not want to do these all in one workout. give the DC thread a look - sounds like it may be right for you

I do them all in the same day, and I'm growing (and getting stronger) without any problems. I definitely never did tricep and chest on different days unless they were several days apart. They both get used when you bench, and the idea behind growth is to let the muscle heal. How's it supposed to heal if you're ripping it again the next day?

My upper back, shoulders, lats, tris, etc...all get hit at once, and my lower back, legs, and core get hit all at once. Works for me.

hmmmm... can see a Westsider doing back the same workout.

but i'm thinking after t-bar/barbell rows/weighted pullups.....i'm worthless:bawling:

DC? looks interesting, maybe when i hit a plateau i might try it.

Thanks for the great info, I guess I will have to experiment and decide what works best for me. I like the idea of chest and tris on one day and back and biceps, the next day. I did neglect the shoulders though; I will pay more attention to this :D
