Why not chest, back and tris on same day? Take look at this example..

I'm relatively new to lifting but have been reading magazines and stuff here and there for a while. I've been lifting for a couple of months now and have noticed (and it's no secret) that on chest days, you use the back and triceps a lot. After a chest work out, my triceps and back are semi sore. Lately, the soreness has gone away. But, I figured why not train the back after chest and then complete it w/ a tricep workout?

This way, you don't have to work out/fatigue those muscle as much as you would if you were training them separate, no? I think I can complete all 3 bodyparts in an hour. I'm going to try it this week and wanted to get some input from you vetrans out there.

This is my plan:

Mon: chest, back, triceps

Tues: Biceps, forearms, abs

Wed: Off

Thursday: legs

Friday: Calves, abs

Sat: Off

Sun: Off

plus, u have no day for shoulders. and without boulder shoulders you arent gonna get anywhere. :D

Bro, nothing wrong with that. Shoulders also get hit really hard when you do chest and some back work. If you want to do a split like this, go to the women's board, and read a post by realgains about proper training. You will like it :)

sorry bro but your routine sounds like crap.

back, chest, and triceps on the same day???

no!

how about this one:

mon: chest and either biceps or triceps

tuesday: back and either biceps or triceps

wed: off

thursday: delts and abs

friday: off

sat: legs

sunday: off

i just don't see how you could do a full back workout after chest.

Poliquin also does chest and back in the same day. Oppossing muscle group supersets are very effective and work very well.

to get a REALLY proper workout, i'd suggest doing either back or chest but adding a smaller muscle like the tris or bi's.

but to do both back and chest in not impossible.

personally, after back or chest i barely have enough juice to finish my bis and/or tris.
