I have never been one for pre-workout shakes. About 90 minutes before I work out I eat 3/4 cup oatmeal nuked in 12 oz milk. After nuking, I add 2 tablspoons ground flaxseeds and 30 g whey.
I never have either----but lately I have been having about 23g from a protein shake preworkout and my lifts have been going really well--I think when I start up on creatine I will add about 20g of Dextrose plus 5g of creatine to that shake---and then have my regular postworkout shake with R-ALA as well----does that sound stupid to anyone?
Yes. I usually take one about 1-2 hours before lifting, and then another following lifting. I just started taking it twice a day. So thats like 12g a day. Not too bad.
Dextrose comes in my drink. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to take it with dextrose so it gets absorbed faster or something. . .
