I never come off creatine - have yet to see anything of scientific substance substantial enough to persuade me otherwise. Its akin to postulating you need to cycle a multi-vitamin.
I've read alot of different opinions and articles about creatine even some saying it extends your life in the long run... not exactly sure how accurate that is but from my experience micronized creatine mono has worked well for me but I take it in very small doses and only after I train.
