Weak side advice/tips

How do you girls train your 'weaker' side? My trainer and I have started doing routines once every two weeks to just train my left arm/side. I've dislocated the left shoulder twice, so there's some injury history, but also its naturally quite a bit weaker. It seems the more I train, the bigger the delta between their respective capabilities: right arm/shoulder gains size and strength faster.

Any tips from you folks? Also: got my BF done today: 21 per cent. I did the happy dance all over the damned gym as its down a full 12 per cent from when I really started training hard again.

wow congrats on that BF drop.. nice one!! my left arm is a lil weaker than my right one too... i usually do an extra set to try and even things out a bit. good luck!!:)

You need to fire your trainer:D

Working only one side will screw up your physiology. Your now stronger side will be deficient in some movement that your weak side is accustomed to. Instead work that side first and do the same amount on the stronger side. That was suggested to me by my exercise physiologist when I broke my knee and when I broke my ankle.

I agree with Poohbear......you might want to see the other post on this topic.

i agree also.

i too dislocated by shoulder, actually both have been at different times in my life.

So my left shoulder really pains me with certain exercises. However, it did take a while, but it's back up there with the right one in terms of strenght. It has always been a little weaker too.

You have to just slowly build up and start with your weaker arm and don't do more than that on your stronger one.

another thing you should be doing lots of small movement exercises to rehabilitate the cup. and warm up lots with it especially since it is healing.
