Time for me to drop some pounds...

i try to flip the way i think about it. minor setbacks become encouragement to push forward rather than taking steps in the wrong direction. why waste the hard work for short term gratification?

when i consider a cheat, even if its at the last minute i say fuck it. being grumpy about denying yourself a cheat (remember its temporary) is better than giving in and dealing with the regret.

i also have a spinal injury and nerve damage myself, so its great to hear that others are pushing through it as well, you have our support!

I heard this a long time ago and I still say it to myself every once in a while...

the hardest part is GETTING to the gym, once you're there it's all good.

JUST GET THERE.

There are times when you just cannot for the life of you put down the twinkie. I've been there a few times. Even when that voice was saying "wtf do you think you're doing?" - I just took another bite. When you've finally had enough of feeling bad and your head is finally in it, you will do it.

....so hurry up! lol :D

haven't been to the gym in a week. Hopefully, tonight.
I am getting over a sore throat. Lost my voice Friday. The sad thing is that is no reason not to go to the gym.

I haven't read all the posts in this thread but I will eventually. In January I steped on the scales at a solid 300Lbs. Holy Sheep Shit Jesus...at 6'-2" I was a dough boy!! I had torn the miniscus in my left knee running around our boat and I knew I was killing myself. I have been my wife's care taker for 15 years (she has relapsing remitting MS) and I knew I had to change or she would end up a widow.

I went to a local orthopedic Dr, for my knees who has branched out into Wellness and Anti aging. While doing the knee thing I talked to him about the weight, feeling like shit all of the time and at 56 I knew I was supposed to want to when I looked at hot women but it just wasn't there any more.

That was the beginning. I was off to the cardiologist for the A~Z work up plus my Wellness Doc's saliva and blood test. Luckily...cardio and cholesterol was in range but Test was on the low side of normal. wellness Doc put me thru six weeks of supplements to stabilize everything and then I started 100MG every week injection of Testosterone Cypionate. Within about 10 days I was waking up with wood and the world started looking good again. I watched the diet and was down to 280 by March. He did blood again and cut me to Test inj every other week. The weight loss slowed but it was still steady.

By May I decided to hit the gym. I got a jug of Optimal Fitness Whey protien and started hitting the gym 3 days a week. By July I was at 275 and had gone from a 44" waist to a 40".
My BMI dropped from 32 to 26~27. People started to comment about my appearence and I started feeling great. I figure my weight loss slowed because I am converting fat to muscle and I am seeing the leaning of my body. I am starting to see my abs again and I am stoked!!

Last week I asked my Doc and we decided it was time for me to take gear home and inject myself. I am going back to 1 x a week on the Test and am considering a 5 day rotation. Over the last 3 weeks I have started creatine before workouts and have recently added a pre and post workout carb "vehicle " along with my protien to help my pumps during work outs. I have seen a big change in the last 10 days!!! I think I am on the right track and am now focusing on the diet deal closely. I think my goal is to hit about 230~235 with a BMI around 10~15. I think that is realistic.

I discovered this site about 10 days ago and find myself here 3~4 times a day ...reading and learning. When I found this thread I figured we must be close in body type.

I have now got my wife involved with this Doc for her back and neck problems as well as her HRT...she's 50...post menopausal and her hormones are fucked up as a football bat.
She is 65 lbs over weight and this is proving to be something that we can do together.

It's great to find like minded people who have used their brains and science to change their lives for the better.

I'll stop this rant and read more. I'll check in with updates and questions from time to time. I am open to any comments or suggestions about what I am doing.

Big props to straitedge52. It sounds like you are living life to the fullest again!!!
I found out what my problem has been. I have a severe sinus infection. I am on hefti antibiotics and a nasal spray for a while.
I am off to Charlotte tomorrow. No gym probably til Monday.
Still 240. I am looking pretty good. I just need to rededicate myself to the gym.

Lets see. Went on vacation to Charlotte again. Got food poisoning. Had a sinus infection.
Just got back to work. Everyone commented how skinny I look. Seeing as I have not eaten since Sunday that is understandable.
Had a CAT scan due to the food poisoning and all. It never stopped. Everything is normal. Winds up my antibiotics for the sinus infection made the stomach problems worse.

Thinking about having my coworkers mother cook my meals for me. No joke. If I buy the food she will cook the turkey, potato's or rice for me. It would be the first time I ate almost all whole foods. Especially those that are clean etc. It would also get me to eat more that 75 grams of carbs a day. The results would be interesting.
Seeing as I have barely been able to move and not work out for well over a week I am motivated to get back in the gym too. If I have my meals super tight and I am in the gym 5x a week I should make great progress.

Lets see what happens!

Worked out yesterday. I am really weak!
I was 238.
Diet is sick right now!
Plan on going tonight. Just one body part per day for now. Hit chest yesterday. Back tonight.

Went to the gym last night. 240ish on the scale.
I am looking okay. Lean for the most part. I am just not used to being so deflated. The more I go the better I will look.
I have 8 abs when I flex. I can see most of them when I breathe. I still have a bit more fat on the bottom two to go. Once that is gone they will look awesome.
Now I have to work on the rest of me. Fill out, get stronger, more dense and more stamina!!!
I am going to keep plugging away one body part per day until probably October. Then I will make some adjustments and maybe add in a preworkout drink from Beverly International along with their new NO product 3x a day. Other than that I am already using their Superpack. I need to be more consistent with Omegalyze from Palumbo. That will help a lot. I am currently not using Mass Aminos or Ultra 40 either. Might start that up in October as they really help.
Today here is what I ate:

9am 60grms shake w/ half cup oatmeal in water w/ superpack

11am chicken, onions, peppers

1pm 4 pcs Ezekiel bread w/ teddy anpb (unsalted)

4pm steak

Probably take in some carbs (waxy maize) w/ aminos etc before working out.

PWO will be a 60 grm shake w/ amino's, leucine, creatine.

Chicken for dinner.

I am thinking about having my meals at work cooked for me as stated before. Two guys are having it done already. That would be a huge help!

Legs tonight. Mine are small as shit right now!

Worked til 830 last night and didn't make it.
Looks like that may happen again tonight. If it does I will wind up food shopping and cooking my meals for tomorrow and Friday. At least something positive will come out of it.
I really need to start going in the morning again.

Worked til 930 last night. No gym.
Diet is money. Green tea twice a day too.
No gym is killing my results though. I need to fill out. It would help me get rid of that last bit of fat too.
