Last week, while bench pressing and struggling to complete my last rep, I pushed off with the little left I had and HELD MY BREATH for a (split) second. I felt a throbbing sensation immediately in the back of my neck (like an inflammated blood vessel type of thing) but not bad enough to keep me from continuing my workout.
I've been feeling the throbbing sensation in the same spot since. I've taken ibuprofen but nothing seems to change. It's becoming to affect my sleep too. It gets worse when I do movements or activities that stress blood flow to the head, like bending over, running up the stairs, jogging or sex. I couldn't even cheer as hard yesterday at the game because I thought my head would explode.
Any clue about this?. I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow but would love to hear about this and/or if any of you have had this before and what to take or how to treat this ailment.
Please help. Thanks.
