Sugars while Cutting

I was talking to a PT the other day, he said a main factor in losing some extra fat is to stop eating sugars throughout the day - lower meal intakes to 7g of sugar or less. Only times I should be eating sugar are before and after workouts and they should be dextrose sugars. What do you guys think on this? True?

he makes sense. Im on a fat losing diet and really the only "sugars" I eat are after i workout. I dont eat any right when i wake up and none at my last meal of the day.

I'd say this was true.
When I started a new job I stuck to my bodybuilding diet, but it was the "done thing" to have tea and coffee, made for you, and always with two sugars, hell if you have 5 cups a day thats 10 spoonfuls of sugar you have. Everyday. After a month I noticed my stomach getting flabbier very quickly!

It makes sense. There are a lot of products out there that are sugar free now, just be AWARE and read the labels. Not all of them are good for you. According to my Doc, sugar has absolutely NO redeeming nutritional values at all.

That is true. Post-workout, you wants carbs in your bloodstream fast to help replenish your glysogen stores - it won't get stored as fat at that time (so long as you don't overdo it). Otherwise, sugars are a very god way of getting your daily calories up - they are in and out of you quickly, leaving you feeling hungry.

yep. at least 2 days a week before any 2 selected workouts i'd also up carbs a bit so i have enough of gas for the next days workouts.
