Sometimes while working out I won't get a set number of reps or weight or hurt myself accidentily and I will just shit my pants being so pissed off and have to leave to cool down. I have a very bad temper. Anyone else get something similar to this?

I also haven't lost motivation but can't keep up energy to workout more than 20 minutes and leave the gym angry at myself. It is starting to bug me; I am not putting up number like I used to. I have not overtrained but I seem to be getting weaker. Changing up routines has not helped. I'm gonna put in a hardcore wkout tonight and see what happens.

dude..... sounds like you might need a break. when you get frustrated like that, and cant put up bigger weight, well that's basically reaching a plateu right? so take a week off, make sure your diet is perfect, get enough sleep, remind yourself of your goals, and come back at it stronger than before. no use in upsetting yourself any more than needed.. just take a break.

if you know your not overtraining leaving the gym is not going to help. work through your plateau by channeling that energy. everyone is going to have setbacks - we all get upset and dissappointed but never let it stop you from seeing the goal brother. i know in my training i have certain weaknesses - things i cannot yet do and knowing that is my greatest strength.

Thanks bro's. I stopped working legs today at the 4th set and came back to the gym and pumped out 10 working sets for my shoulders. I just worked through it and felt really good. Gonna go back and work forearms in a couple hours. I think the greatest motivation to me was knowing I failed and if I didn't do something about it like putting in more effort today why would I tomorrow or the day after.

glad to hear it - it's gonna be a constant battle i'm sure you know. stick it out and i'm sure you'll break through those plateaus

I've been known to beat up the squat rack after a failed attempt, or toss a plate or two around. But then again...I'm an asshole. I thought it was the gear when I was on it, but I've been natural for a year and I still do it. If I get all fired up to hit a PR, I can't fucking stand it when I miss it. I look around for something to break. I get furious at failure. Then because I'm foolish, I'll try again and again, and get even angrier.

Regarding the strength decrease, there's a lot of other variables that may be effecting you right now. School, work, female, bad diet, etc etc. If you tend to be angry in the gym, you may also tend to bring outside problems into the cage which is bad. Or you could just need a little break. Maybe a beach with an outstanding lady and some Corona would do the trick.
