Snack Food And Meals For The Work Day?

Hey guys, Im back.

Im going back on a cutter, and im starting it a little early this time so I hit the spring time rush in stride :-)

Im sticking with my high protein, mid healthy fats, low to mid carb, with more clean carbs on the weekends and lower fat totals.

Anyways, we all know I have this stuff down to a science for the most part, but now I have a "NEWB" type question.

So currently I am working in a mall selling cell phones. The mall is all junk food for the most part. I dont have a refridgerator or anywhere to store shakes or food. I do have a GNC in the mall where I buy a Labrada Lean Body RTD from time to time.

My question is, what are some decent meals or small snacks that would be easy to store at my job that are clean and will fit into my diet. Keeping in mind that I like to keep my carbs realatively low during the week, and I up them on the weekends.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Is there room to carry a small cooler? Put one of those blue ice thingys in it, then put the cooler in the freezer overnight. You can pack a lot in one of those things. That's what I do.

I keep a baggie with 2 scoops of whey and another with a few slices of wheat bread whenever I think I'm going to miss a meal. Complex carbs, some fat and protein. Works for me.

+1 for the almonds....

I keep a sandwich baggie in the office, lasts about 2-3 days...grabbing a handful here or there...keeps me from getting hungry.

Can get 'em at Sam's/Costco for like 10-11 bucks...unsalted, raw.

lr

- Low sodium beef jerky.

- Ostrim sticks (thats ostrich and beef)

- Boiled eggs (keep in shell. they last at least half a day)

- Whey / Casein blend. (2:1 ratio)

- Low fat Cottage cheese

- Veggies for something to munch on and fiber.

...and the usual.. protein bars, mrps etc.

I think you can use meats etc, just have a frozen water bottle next to the meat and it will keep cool all day. I have never got food poisening

Invest in a small cooler. Throw an ice pack in there. You can tuck a cooler usually anywhere that you might keep your coat or something. Or You might want to try and talk to one of the bigger stores, Im sure they have a fridge and a microwave. I use to work retail and all of the bigger stores did and Im sure they wouldn't mind if you threw some food in there. Chicken , raw brocoli, brown rice, all can be eaten cold. I know its not the best but it will kepp you on track. I nearly never have a mic available and always just have a cooler. Hope this helps a little.

Man I am on the go all day. From 0500 to 1500 Monday through Friday. It is hard eat like I need to, but I always make it work. Getting a cooler and and icepack like everyone else has mentioned would be a start. Prepare a few chicken breast ahead of time and mix it up with some low fat mayo, onions, and celery. That shit goes a long way and is actually good cold. I mix two shakes in one nalgene bottle and drink it one half at a time. Add a handful of Walnuts, almonds, or some natty peanut butter and you are set. All three are a great source of fiber and healthy fats, and there very portable. I tend to keep a jar of Smart Balance natty peanut butter in my work truck and a couple of tbsp of that will go a long way. Dried fruit is good too, just watch the carbs if you are cutting. Good luck to ya.
