Shock Training Principle

do any of you implement shock workouts every once and a while in your program?
Im just curious as to what sort of results people get opinions on the benefit of doing them.

Yesterday on my bis, tris and forearms day, i did a shock workout on my biceps and forearms.

I did:
-5x5 of barbell curls
-2x10 of hammer curls
-3x8 of EZ bar curls
-8x7 of wrist curls
-5x10 of reverse wrist curls

After one of my last wrist curl sets i ran to the bathroom and threw up, my arms felt numm, i physically couldnt move my hands and i wasnt even able to hold a cup of water or lift a 3 litre milk carton out of fridge. Today my arms are just really sore.

Will this shock principle help to create additonal growth in muscles? or is it just a form of overtraining?

That's kinda similar to my standard arm day.

4-5X5 barbell
3x10-12 hammer or reverse curls
3x8-10 preacher curls
3x15 wrist curls
3x15 reverse wrist curls
Plus another ~9 sets of tris.

I do try to "shock" my muscles once ina while but doing either very slow reps or stuff like 7-21s.

Haven't though about that...but I guess it would work. That's be a fucking killer with any type of shoulder press. Good idea...I'm doing that next week :D

leg extensions aren't that bad...I like them at the end of legs to get that extra burn

Yep...nothing wrong with extensions as long as you're not depending on them for the core of your leg work. I do them after my squats, claf raises, SL deads, and ham curls.
