Running up and down (House Stairs )

Hey all, I know this sounds funny, but i was thinking about running up and down my House Stairs on a empty stomach in the mornings for about 20 - 30 minutes , Since It would take to long to get to the gym or a Track, and i'm not in favor of running about my block.

So what do you guys think about this?

Running stairs sucks in my opinion. The propensity for sustaining a fairly serious injury is just too high. If you're training with sufficient intensity, then as you tire you're going to run the risk of missing a stair and either rolling an ankle or knee, or taking a dive down the stairs. I'd say you're better off to just find a nice hill somewhere near you. Preferably, the hill should be grass or a chip trail just to make life easier on your knees, but if all you can find is a steep street, then that's still better than stairs--you'll get the same workout (if not better because you'll actually be able to run down the hill), and you'll be less likely to sustain an injury.
