Proteins In Pasta Good For Building Muscle?

Hey everyone! I realize pasta is often used to supplement carbs along with a piece of meat for the protein. Im about to eat a bag of pasta and it says it has 48 grams of protein. Does that mean it isnt necessary to supplement meat with that meal? I drink half a gallon of milk even while Im eating that meal. I dont have a whole lot of meat in my diet anyway. Peanut butter,milk,string cheese and protein shakes make up the bulk of my diet. Some tuna and pasta also, but not all the time. Just wondering if the protein in pastas is sufficient on its own. ThanX!
 
Where is the protein coming from specifically (in the ingredients)? The flour? If so, it's most likely does not have a complete profile.

ThanX brother! Im guessing the flour, it doesnt say. Makes sense. Maybe the milk will make up for it? I always list all protein (complete or not), since Im always counting protein. If anything the calories wont hurt. ThanX again!!

Even though it's not complete, you may have some EAA's from the milk/meat. There's the concept of complementation (adding a source of amino acids to foods sources that lack that amino acid)
 
Wheat protein does contain all essential amino acids it just has extremely low levels of certain essential amino acids, calling them "incomplete" is a misnomer. However, plant proteins contain the highest levels of glutamine. Dairy products have the best amino acid profiles followed by meats and then plant proteins. It would be wise to ensure you're eating some dairy protein with your pasta to ensure you're getting adequate levels of EAA's.
