potato chips cooked in peanut oil

Ingredients: Potatoes, Peanut Oil

Not something I would eat on a regular basis, but wouldn't this be a better choice than regular potato chips? The fat content is high, but it wouldn't be saturated right??

Like I said, I eat them very rarely, but it still doesn't make sense why they would be so bad. I eat potatoes. I eat natural peanut butter. Why can't I put them together??

heating oils to the temp it takes to fry the potato chips breaks them down creating transfats

eat them if you will they are better than regular chips
i used to eat the jalapeno flavoured ones when i did eat carbs

cheers

i must mention though that peanut oil has a high smoking point so it tolerates heat better than most
and the levels of trans fat is lower than say if they used vegetable oil

Same thing, just less hydrogenated oils - I'd stay away.
