No more weigh-ins..

Well i've been re-evaluating my goals for the past few days and decided that "losing weight" is not one of them! I really want to build some more muscle..get everything bulging and popping out everywhere. So, for the next few months I'm gonna hit the weights HARD:mad: I think it was triple V who said " make 'em my bitches" (lol) . Then I'll worry later about dropping my bodyfat.

So as a little incentive (for myself) I got rid of my scale :) Now I can't go ballistic over my weight. I'll just concentrate on how I feel and look!

Smart move! Getting rid of my scale was the best thing I ever did. Bodyfat %, your clothes, your mirror, and especially pictures are better gauges. For me, training heavy made me really lean out.

Now I actually think it's cool to get on the scale, because I can't believe how much weight I'm now packing in my tighter body. Then I think how that weight translates into muscle, and how that muscle translates into calories, and I think "eat your hearts out all you skinny fat chicks who live their miserable lives on salads and stairmasters!" Muscle chicks rule! :D

AWESOME! girl....me too!!!! Im hitting the weights real frickin hard...them biatches !! lol

Im focusing on building muscle mass..cut out the cardio all together too.

And im eating like a MOFO!! :D

best of luck and take pics!!!

oh yeah and the clothes fit better, just in different places now!!!

Me too !!

That is exactly what I am doing! I have never in my life had a goal to GAIN weight so, its weird for me to weigh myself..... I am not sure what I am supposed to be looking for....lol

I am doing cardio, though. But, I have decreased it from 40 minutes, high intensity 5 times a week, to 20 minutes, medium intensity, 3-4 times a week.... I just CAN'T completely stop the cardio! I will gain fat if do - more fat than I need.

But, as far as gaining muscle - hitting the weights "hard" is a great idea! These last two weeks, at the advice of people on the board, I have gone really heavy with the weights and fewer reps and I can already tell a difference in bulk. I also feel like I had great workouts everytime I have gone the past two weeks because I go to failure and am always sore the next day! I love it!

Also, as OTC and others have said, diet is VERY important. So, an increase in your protein intake will help to gain "good" weight. So far, it's been working really good for me. I haven't missed a workout and look forward to working out at the end of the day!

When going heavy do you ladies try to bang out 8-10 reps...or do you still try for 10-12..or maybe less:confused:
I am pretty happy with how my upper body has been developing it's just my legs  So i'm hoping that with my increase in intensity and weight i'll get them shaping out nicely.
I'm gonna cut down in my cardio too...like you Jlo i think i'd blow up ..but i'm only gonna do it 3 times a week and mix it up a bit...Hopefully this will give me a bit more "spunk" in my workouts:)

The maximum number of reps I do is 8. If I can do more than 8, then I increase the weight. If I get 6, then I am still happy. 6 is good, especially if it's really heavy.

I usually workout alone, but since going heavy and to failure, I am finding it necessary to have someone spot me. So, it's really great if you can workout with someone that can spot you when you need it, that way you can really max out with every set.

Also, I agree with you about the cardio - I wouldn't stop completely - especially if you know your genetics... Light cardio will help you to see the muscle definition in your legs quicker.

Yes get rid of your scales.....None of you gals should even OWN a scale..waste of money!!!! Took me about a year to figure it out, but better late than never:) As far as heavy..i shoot for 10 reps..if I get 8-6 great..then I drop the weight after my last set and burn em out....works great!!

good plan to ditch the scales for awhile. You will be happier and hopefully will stick to the training longer
