You're not alone , bro. I've had those terrible shin splints even on my weak Sus/Ox cycle. I could't run/walk on a treadmýll for a looong time. So I used bicycle for the cardio and warming up. But I also suspect that these might be caused by pushing calves/legs workouts too much while on gear. I'd suggest you quit cardio(running) and leg work for a week or two.
