My girlfriend's birthday is coming up...

We go to different colleges (bout an hour away). Anyway, I am not going to be able to make it down to see her on her birthday (fraternity stuff), plus she is busy as well (sorority stuff). So I plan on sending her some flowers on her birthday...to keep her happy until I can come down later that weekend. Oh yeah, we've been dating off and on for the past 4 years.

Here's the plan...4 dozen pink roses delivered early early in the morning. I want her whole sorority to see her flowers (that's the whole point with flowers...right?), so I guess I lucked out that its "work week" at her sorority house, and all the sisters will be around for most of the day. Anyway, I have a few questions before I set this plan in action.

1) Is 4 dozen enough for the "wow-factor"?

2) Should I go w/ a different type of flower?

3) Any ideas on what I should right on the card?
(I was thinking short and sweet)

4) Any other ideas?

My main concern is the wow-factor. I want to make it clear how I feel about her, and I want all her friends to know as well. I've only met a few of them, but I want them all to like me. I know how much of a role a girl's friends play in relationships.

Thanx girls...

first of all, if any of her friends use the computer and see that your avitar is a dirty toilet bowl, that might be a turnoff, second, my husband when we first started dating like 10 years ago, sent me a dozen red roses, everyone was like "ohhh, how sweet, yada yada" then the next day when I got to work, there were 2 dozen red roses with a note that said "As each day goes by, I love you twice as much as the day before" needless to say, it was very cool, plus it would say you 1 dozen roses. :)

My hubby sends me flowers often. The most at one time was 2 dozen & everyone at work was WOWED! I think 4 dozen of pink roses would be very nice. Of couse, diamonds are also really, really nice. But once you get in the jewelry buying area, you've always got to take it up a notch the next time.

BrickGirl, you're husband is a creative man!

NapoleanComplex - Sending 1 dozen the day of her birthday and then 2 dozen the next is a great idea! Why pink roses?

Exactly. You have to leave yourself room to go upwards.

lucidBlue - I was just thinking pink b/c I don't want to send red. I think any color other than red would due, but I think she'll like pink the most out of all the other colors. Red is more of a valentine's thing...I think its over-played.

jenscats5 - yeah, def don't want to jump into diamonds just yet. Plus I can't afford to compete w/ her parents...they always buy her NICE jewelry on special occasions...they got her a $800 ring for this birthday. Last year, she got diamond earrings, christmas she got a Tag Watch.

tuc biscuit - true about leaving room to go upwards. Here's my thinking. I'm definitely leaving myself room to go up, but I'm also blowing away any chance for competition.

Some girls would prize a letter or poem above any expensive material item, have you considered this?

True. I just think the rose idea is nice because I rarely ever get flowers. One gift I think would be great (if the person you're with is an artist) would be a drawing or painting that he created himself for you. That would be perfect!
