My almond addiction seemed to improve my body composition

I bought 6 3lb bags of raw almonds from costco a few weeks ago. why i've been doing eating 1lb per day.

my day is like this....

Meal "Breakfast":
1 tbsn Fish oil ( 135 calories)
1 cup liquid egg whites (125 calories)
2 slices fat free swiss (60 caloires)

then....

16oz (1lb) of almonds until my last meal of the day. I have 2 scoops of syntrax nectar post workout (180) cals

Meal "Dinner"
8-10 oz (grilled chicken, steak, Tuna, Turkey Burgers) 300-450 calories


I've been doing most days and I am looking hard and lean. I'm not trying to diet.... I just love almonds. 1lb of almonds is enough to get me through the day. i think it has 2600 calories.
 
damn. according to calorieking.com, that's 2626 calories, 230g fat, 90g carbs, and 96g of protein. approximately 379 almonds, also based on that site. i love almonds too, i've been snacking on them on this diet, but i only have 15-20 almonds in a day (only consuming around 1500 calories total for the day).

maybe i can afford to eat more of them, while cutting out more carbs (although i only get 125-150 grams of it anyway)?

what are your stats, activity level, etc?
 
I am on around 2000 calories right now, and I always have about 8 almonds before my workout as a little cheat. They seem to give me more energy and I'm definately getting pretty damn lean (8-pack is getting there). I just posted a thread the other day on almonds. I also eat a few of them after lunch to fight the hunger. I figure if I'm gonna cheat a little, I might as well cheat with what I consider to be a good food. Can't wait to start bulking again so I can eat as many as I want.

BTW, a pound a day is probably excessive!

My stools are silver/white looking (I know thats not usually good) but I can see all the almonds in there. Also not all the calories in almonds is abosorbed during digestion. humans cannot completely break down the cell walls of the almonds leaving some of the fat undigested. researched aren't sure how much of the fat is not absorbed but they are pretty certain that almonds are a lower calorie food than the label claims due to the fact that we cannot use all the calories from fat
 
nuts are so moorish, i could'nt stop at a pound, i would keep munching. kudos to you though!

in actual fact nuts do the bowels good, maintaining regularity :D

body composition improved from eating almonds? How is this possible?

are you sure its not just that you've been upping your cardio or something like that?
are you sure you are actually getting leaner? lol
