How do you replenish your carbs after the gym?

Hi everyone

I am wondering what kind of carbs I should be consuming post-workout (weights). I was eating plain yogurt with added protein and a banana. But I've been told recently that the sugars in bananas replenish liver levels over muscle. Thanks...Ang
 
Personally, my post-workout meal is just a protein shake with GPlenish. There are a couple carbs in there, maybe 10, but I don't add anything to it. The Gplenish seems to help me recover very very well.

Those who add carbs to their shake typically add maltodextrin or dextrose (I think).
 
I train in the am, so I drink protein before and eat a meal containing oats after (protein pancake).
