Hmm, maybe this 50-rep idea wasn't a good one

My gym sucks, and they're closed next week. So I thought this week may be the time to give that 50-rep stuff from that other thread a try. If I end up totally exhausting myself, I have a forced week to recover. I was gonna go M-W-F-Su, and do it just like the thread says, except for adding a set of calf raises. Monday went ok. Today did not.
A little background: this is my first full-body (and high rep) routine. Most recently I have done the Old School routine and a few weeks of Wanna Be Big #2 (which is largely 10 rep schemes).

When I got out of bed, I almost fell right over. My calves and my hams were KILLING me still. The calves are normal enough, but that's the only body part that ever gets incredibly sore. Everything else felt normal. So I hit the gym. I crank out 50 wuss-weight squats on my second day of doing them free-style. Against my better judgment, I go and crank out 50ish pitiful SLDL's. I expected those to suck. Then it gets scary. Since I did bench press Monday, I went to dips. My previous dip experience was sets of 5 or so with 30-40 extra lbs. So I thought bodyweight would probably work. Wrong. I cranked out 8. Then barely 6. So I started using plates for assistance, and in the end I was using 10, it took me 7 damn "sets" to hit 50, and I was dying! Next, I went to chins since I did curls Monday. More of the same. I was doing parallel grip, and did 8 bodyweight, and then 6,6,6,6,6,6,6 (or something like) adding plates all the way until I was using 14!!!!! I couldn't believe this shit! Then, since I was already looking like and feeling like quite the ass, I went over and did some standing calf raises w/ half the normal weight.

Thoughts running thru my head (other than I'm a fucking pussy): You're tired from Monday. You've never done this full body shit before and it's not for you, you need the recovery time. You've never done this high rep shit before. You're not used to it. Maybe you're not doing any good, or more harm than good.

My question is just: What do I make of all this? And do I want to go to the gym Fri/Sun and do the same thing or is that a bad idea? I know it's a bad idea from my ego's view, I probably won't be able to bench or curl w/ an empty bar.

yeah go ahead and go for it.......... lets put it this way.

i workout like this and it takes a lot out of it.

go ahead and do it for the the other two days....... then take a whole week off next week.

when you come back, it will be like a whole new madd hatter in the gym.
