First off, welcome to our board. It probably wouldn't hurt to add more protein to your diet. Any reputable protein powder will do the job for this. The cardio you are doing sounds fine you need to add more weight training. Work out your entire body with weights. Remember, there is no such thing as spot reduction. Try visiting the womens fitness board. There are several knowledgable ladies over there can really benefit you. Again, welcome we are glad to have you here. If you have any questions feel free to email me I help any way I can.

thank you flexx for welcoming me on board :) i will look into the powder protein. i'd like to know when i should take it in the day before workout or after and if you have any suggestions on brand names. thanks again!

Optimum nutrition is the first one that pops to mind. I just ordered triple threat 3/60 from mass quantities that you see advertising at the top of this page. As far as when to drink it I recommend mid-morning and again post-workout. Taste is very important because you don't like you won't drink it. I know I've thrown several away. Look for a powder that is a blend of whey, egg, and milk. I don't usually come to this board I was just passing through killing time before squats today.

Making the larger muscles in your body (chest, back, legs, and ass) larger can significantly raise your metabolism and help to reduce body fat and increase muscle tone.
