few questions before i start cutting

This is a trick that I use for the situation you're in. If you aren't really "getting ready" for a show or anything, then time isn't really a factor. Try cutting for three weeks. At the end of that period assess your progress. If you feel you need to cut more, take a two week maintenance phase. Cycle three weeks cutting, and two weeks maint., and I think you will find that you are able to retain a lot more muscle mass. This is assuming that you are training naturally. Now get after it!
 
what cal intake should i be at? is it 10x bw, or maybe 8x? thanks
 
I personally think about 12cal per pound for cutting and 15 for maintenance. Cardio 3-4 x a week.

sounds good....also everyone says" you cant gain muscle and lose fat at the same time...so are ab workouts useless, or can u still shape muscle while cutting?
 
everyone has abs, you just need a low bf% to see them. does that mean you shouldn't work them out? thats up to you. 1 or 2 sets wont hurt.
