I have been into the fitness lifestyle for about 2 years now. I came down with the worst bronchitis& sinus infection 2 weeks ago. For 2 weeks all i did was work, sleep, eat chicken soup and drink juice/eat small amts of worthless food- yuck. I never had an illness keep me down for that long. I thought about easilng back into the gym- but my hubby (heavy weight lifter) said not to baby it now that i'm better jump back in. We worked out today (arms) and it kicked my butt, and to think he said he "took it easy on me".
Any one else have a problem getting back into things after stopping for a while? I feel like I lost alot of strength/stamina. I have continues my multi vit, calcium. Just restarted my TRAC creatine. Am stil on antibiotics, mucinex, allegra D, flonase. Its also so hard to get back to eating clean after eating comfort foods for a while. I was thinking of taking a stimulant/fat burner to rev me up but they tend to make me crabby. If you've dealt w/ this kind of thing any tips would be appreciated. Thanks. Sarita.

I don't know if I have any tips but I sure can offer encouragement! I just re-started eating a clean diet this past Monday and it's killing me. So many things happening the first 60+ days of the year that all I was eating was junk and I was feeling miserable. If I can make it thru this week I'll be ok cuz the first week was the hardest for me.

You can do it!!

REMEMBER: anytime you fall off the wagon you should look for loose change while your down there!! ;)

YES! I had the flu about a month or so ago and honey it's normal to feel weakened by an illness. You have to remember that your body is fighting the invasion in your body your white blood cell have increased to do this and your body is using most of your energy to fight it to make you better. When your feeling better it doesn't necessarily mean that your body is at feel compasity. It took me a good week to week and a half to get back in the swing of things. :)

Oh heck yes!! I tore my ACL on 2/1/06 and couldn't work out for a while. I also am not allowed to do any cardio, walking or lower body weight lifting. And I have had on & off bouts with depression.

When I finally got back into the gym to do upper body - I definitely felt like I lost a lot of strength also. Still having trouble getting back into the eating thing.....Just take it one day at a time.....
