I talked to a female BB preparing for a show that used a 2-d low carb and 3-d high carb diet. She took 50 mg/EOD of Winny-V and 10-15 mg/d of oxandrolone for 8 weeks prior to the show. Before that, 10 weeks of 300 mg/wk of test and 100 mg/deca for size. Low doses of thermogenics (EPH/CAF) only. No T-3, clen, GH, DNP. Nothing else. Fast walking was her only cardio (45 min/d). A week out she was ripped, I mean ripped. Looked like a road map.
She had a couple of desserts per week up until the last week of the show. A section of cherry pie filling on leg days and ice cream with choc. topping on Sat. night. Because of this she did not have the urge to cheat and stayed on her diet, unlike prior years when she cheated all the time because the diet was too strict.
In my opinion, 2-d low and 3-d high is the key with a small dessert or two a week. This you give you a pump and vasularity like you've never seen. It maintains the energy to lift heavy which preserves muscle, it keeps the metabolism up and fat loss going, and keeps one sane and able to function at home and at work up until the show.
cockd, MS and New@ are correct regarding diet and T-3.
There is a way to get ripped and stay sane, but most just can't handle it because they are stuck in old-world methods that won't die and because of it they suffer mentally and physically then rely on drugs rather than common sense to finish their physique.
Another note on T-3, after several weeks of T-3, the negative nitrogen balance resolves, but the increased metabolism persists. There was a study done on men a few years ago that addressed this. The protein catabolism is short-lived (a few weeks), but the increase in metabolism is not.
