Eltroxin

Anyone using/ used this stuff to burn extra weight? Ive heard its pretty good stuff, going to be using it for the first month of my new kick ass program (and when I say kick ass, I mean it literally :P)

The festivities are over, and its time to get those asses into gear again.

Of course Im not using this and eating like a pig, Im training everyday (combo cardio and weights for the first couple of weeks followed by weight training and cardio on alternate days). Im also following a good clean diet, consisting of lots of protein and low GI carbs.

ELTROXIN contains the active ingredient thyroxine.

ELTROXIN is used to treat hypothyroidism, a disease in which the thyroid gland is underactive and does not produce enough thyroxine, a hormone, which is important for controlling your metabolism. Symptoms of hypothyroidism include tiredness, muscle weakness, cramps, feeling the cold, a slow heart rate, dry and flaky skin, hair loss, a deep husky voice and weight gain.

ELTROXIN is also used to treat children born with hypothyroidism (congenital), those who develop hypothyroidism in the first year of life (neonatal) and children who have hypothyroidism as part of juvenile myxoedema, a condition in which the amount of thyroxine produced by the body is low.

ELTROXIN belongs to a small group of medicines called thyroid hormones, which work by replacing the body's low levels of thyroxine.

Do not take ELTROXIN if:

You are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.

ELTROXIN is not thought to be harmful to an unborn baby when taken by a pregnant woman. However, thyroxine levels need to be watched carefully during pregnancy because too much or too little thyroxine in the mother's bloodstream could affect the well-being of an unborn baby.

You are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed.

Although the active ingredient in ELTROXIN, thyroxine, passes into breast milk, it is not likely to have a harmful effect on a baby. However, it might interfere with the results of tests to detect congenital hypothyroidism in the baby. You should not breastfeed unless your doctor says you can.

You have any other health problems, especially:
Diabetes
Heart disease
High blood pressure
Underactive adrenal glands

Side Effects

Severe skin rash, itching or hives.
Swelling of the face, lips, mouth or throat.
Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
Fever.
Low blood pressure (feeling faint or dizzy).
However, these symptoms do not necessarily mean that you are allergic to ELTROXIN.

Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following:

Diarrhoea
Vomiting
Palpitations (irregular heartbeat)
Chest pain
Sweating/flushing
Weight loss
Muscle weakness/cramps, tremors
Rapid breathing
Fever
Headache
Inability to sleep
Feeling restless/excited

The above side effects are rare with ELTROXIN and usually mean that your daily ELTROXIN dose is too high.

ELTROXIN is available only with a doctor's prescription.

TY :)

I am thinking it is not a good idea unless a doc prescribed it for you. I don;t think messing with thyrod levels are really a good idea unless you are in the running for the Olympia......

Hmm, ive heard its not the best thing, but like you said Daisy, if you're getting ready for compo - well Im not :) just need a kick start to help me with my current diet and it seems to be going pretty well.

I have no problem staying motivated to train, I can train all day long I love it, but dieting is another thing. I work from home, and I work alone which means I dont see anyone all day and there is always food here.

I have been pretty good so far, and hope to just break out of this horrible eat-everything-in-sight habit :)

Anyone here actually used Eltroxin before?

No - but a lot of us have tried Cytomel/Cynomel with mixed results. It's also a drug relating to the thyroid, and only recommended for those who make a living off their bodies. If you take too much, it can damage your thyroid beyond repair. Ask Daisy Girl about this - she's our resident expert.

If you need help controlling your appetite and want something stronger than over-the-counter stuff - I would recommend getting a prescript for phentermine or diethylpropion. These are diet drugs that you can get through the pharmacy on this site. You need to be in good physical health, though - these drugs raise your blood pressure and are addictive if taken for too long.

I think Daisy Girl would recommend Thermorexin. It's over the counter, curbs the appetite, and raises your body temp to burn more calories.

Thanks short one, I dont have a problem with appetitie, I just wanted something to help me lose a few pounds so that I would be able to stick to my diet - I get very dispondent if im working hard and still feel fat.

Anyway, I used it for max one month, had pretty good results, I ddint take my stats but I feel much better now :) Happy to report that all is fine now. Im looking at more options to construct a specific diet for my height, weight and BF %

Thanks for all your help - will definately consider thermorexin though

I've been stacking thermorexin and levorex with some pretty good results. Both are available from the AF Store.

yep....and for those who need a boost but have a sensitive stomach...the Levorex works great pre-cardio
