Eating before bed when cutting?

DrBones

OK... I just started cutting again... and before i go to bed I am usually dying of hunger.... I am cutting my carbs off pretty heavily and am trying to eat only trace carbs after about 3pm. I am taking 300mg ALA 3 times a day.
Is there anything I could eat before bed that wouldn't slow down my cutting progress... I plan on cutting extremely strictly for 6 weeks and want to lose roughly 10-12 lbs.

Tonight I had 3 slices of chicken breast process meat about an hour before bed.... I feel like I could eat a whole god damn horse...

What do you guys think

I think that eating right before bed is bad for a couple reasons: sleep may be affected and you'll wake up hungrier.

I eat about 2 hours before bed.

fat usually keeps me full. flax... are you having fats with your protein after you cut out the carbs?

I have stopped eating before bed and it has done wonders. I dropped 10 lbs of fat. I now eat at 6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 3:30, and 6:30. I go to the gym at 7:30 then have a protein shake made with water around 9.

its not that bad because it will be anti-catabolic. if you do eat before bed make sure its a good mix of protein and fat, thus causing slower digestion and resulting in less protein conversion into glucose.

thus, eating before bed is beneficial unless what youre eating is loaded with carbs or a ridiculous amount of cals (ie, binging)

you don't eat any carbs post-workout?? not trying to be an ass bro but you sure you're losing fat and no muscle? after a workout your muscles need carbs.

btw, if you mean you're going to the gym just to do cardio at 7:30, then it's probably not as big of a deal to not have carbs afterwards, but some carbs would still be helpful.

i would say a blended protein or straight casein but i would imagine whole food would make you feel fuller anyway.

flax is another option, since you're not eating any carbs late in the day, and you're insulin levels won't be high (or shouldn't be). but if you're gettin plenty of EFA's throughout the day, i don't know that i'd add more.

i would say the best option would be to take some fiber before bed, along with some form of protein.

I was waking up in the middle of the night with hunger pains. I found that by eating some cottage cheese, mixed with flax seeds meal/oil and sweetner has really helped. I recently added some R-ALA(100). Also make sure you are drinking enough water, what you think is hunger could be dehydration.

If you can't sleep because you are so hungry, then a few extra calories will be fine. Have like 50-100 calories of lean solid protein to subside the hunger just long enough for you to fall aslep. Pop some Tylenol simply sleep, or take some meletonin to knock you into dreamland.
