diet and burned cals

Just a quick question.......I hope........
I am trying to rid myself of the ole spare tire..... doing 45-60 min on a treadmill before weight trainning. My question is.......If I drink a protien drink, or a slim-fast before my workout, will my body have to burn the cals from the shake first, then tap into the fat stores? How long should I do cardio? Thanks for all the help.
 
Yes, if you eat before you workout, your body will burn the dietary carbs for energy before it taps into your fat stores. Cardio is much more effective first think in the morning after you have been 'fasting' all night during your sleep. 45-60 minutes of cardio on an empty stomach will do wonders for burning fat.
 
why are you drinking a shake before cardio????you should be doing it on empty stomach.....in the morning if you can.45-60 might be a bit much if you haven't done cardio in awhile.start with 30 a couple times a week with a clean diet, and figure your body out.everyone is different so there is no perfect diet.eat right ,train hard ,add in alittle cardio and go from there.hope i didn't confuse you.others will have opions,so gather what you can from everyone...there are some VERY experienced people on this board.later bro.....

Check the label- most flavors have 30+ gms sugar- stops fat loss cold. Orange pineapple has 38 gms. sugar I believe.
 
You should do the cardio after your workout. Your Glycogen levels will be low and your body will start burning the fat. Besides, cardio makes you all sweaty and sticky afterwards for your workouts
 
Doing cardio on an empty stomach is much more efficient then eating prior. No, slim-fast is NOT a dietary drink, in my view, it's just a hyped up junk food drink. Also, low-blood sugar will help fat-burning, especially considering that upon waking in the morning you have the lowers blood sugar levels and you have no food in the stomach. Therefore, fat-loss is highly effective at these time.

What raises blood sugar, what lowers it, how to keep it low at all times???
