day nunmber 3 - cornholios old school program

ah, today was day number 3 ...

5 sets of 5, shrugs ... did 225 for 5 for 5 sets, no problem. more weight next week.
5 sets of 5, bb curls ... warmup with the bar, then 5 sets with 95 ... cakewalk. used my back a little on the last few reps, but otherwise, perfect form.
5 sets of 5, dips ... warmup with 15 reps, no weight ... then strapped 55lbs on. piece of cake. felt real good.
5 sets of 5, squats ... warmed up with 135. then onto 205, the weight i did monday. i was feeling real good today, got all 5 sets, not much of a problem. looks like im goin heavier next week.

well, what do you think? cornholio, any suggestions/comments? this is your routine. any and all comments are welcomed and appreciated. oh, and i wanted to add ... this was the first week of my involvement with this, and if youve been reading, some of the weight was a little lighter than expected. i guess you can call this a warmup week. next week, i think i have a pretty good understanding of how much i should do and how intense it will be (oh, real intense). again, all comments are welcome.

Your approach is dead on....start with a sub-max attempt as you get the weights figured out. You are ready to crank...good job!!!

Just remember that on the 5x5 only the tiop three sets are working stes the other two are warm-ups....continute to do 5x5 as working stes for now, but break them down as needed.
