is creatine primarily for weight training or can it be taken pre and post cardio on days i dont weight train? im trying to lose body fat...will creatine affect doing cardio on an empty stomach or just boost my performance? thanks for any help.

I know several people that say it messes with their stomachs pretty bad. Its never bothered me, but my stomach is never empty:). Make sure you keep your water intake way up there.

Creatine will not do you much good if you're not lifting. It aids in explosive strength excercises, not sustained cardio. I'd avoid it.

Jenny, not to be mean, but if you are wanting to lose body fat resistance training will help ten fold. Find out about your basal metabolic rate. The rate at which you expend calories at rest. You burn three times the amout of your daily calories at rest than in one session of training. If you are not doing resistance training the figure might be as high as four times the amount.
Now you might want to know have to raise your BMR even higher?.....do light to moderate resistance training.
Bottom line....You will never look as good as you want, if all you do is cardio...the human body won't allow for that.

i totally agree with you...there's nothing i can't stand more than these girls who are afraid of doing weights and looking at it as something only men use. as for the creatine i guess i'll just stick to using it on my weight training days...(i not only want to lower body fat but increase/maintain as much muscle as i can). i weight train 4 days a week (one body part per day) and cardio for 30-45 min 3-4 times a week. i'm 20 yrs old, 5'8 and roughly 143 lbs. bodyfat ?. i usally try to eat between 1500 and 1700 cals a day. how does this look to u? (just to get some opinions) thanks.;)

NICE!

Determinning your BMR is crucial, I totally agree. If you're doing resistance training, then I'd still recommend taking creatine on your cardio days. Remember, when you're not lifting, your body is recovering and growing.
