according to body opus, the first 24 hrs of my carbup day should contain 16g of carbs to each kg of lean body weight. my lean body weight in kg is 87. 87*16=1392g of carbs or 5568 cals. can this be done? this doesnt include the protein or fat that i will be consuming as well. how have you( those whove done ckd's) handled your carbup days. the book also says to consume every 2 hrs during the 24-48 hr carbup day(s) and says you should eat during the night as well. did any of you guys follow it this strictly??

thanks,

jmt

check out the other ckd posts from the last couple weeks on this board, mak made some great comments about the first few meals being whey and dex and really outlined a proper carbup. FYI the carbup is so easy to slipup, just be sure to do it properly, or i swear it's like flushing a week of hard work away (my first carbup:()

i read that post, and mak said no more than 12g of carbs per lean kg of body weight over the 36 hr period. so for me, that would be ~1050g of carbs spread over 36 hrs. i understand how many carbs i should be eating, but how much protein/fat should be consumed over the 36 hr period??

Makavelli's right about 12g/kg of carbs for 36 hours. I wouldn't recommend doing the full 48 hours. The carb up is mostly carbs,70%,taken every 2-3 hours with a small amount of protein. Around 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight or 15% of total calories. Same with fat, usually around 15% of total calories.
