Cell Tech and carb intake

Hey all.

On training days, I try and take in 320g of carbs a day. On non training, 270.

I take Muscletech's Cell Tech, which has 38g of carbs per scoop. Right now I'm on a loading stage, so 152g of carbs comes from this stuff.

Do I count this towards my overall carb intake? This might sound like kind of a stupid question, but it isn't a carb powder or anything really, so I'm not sure if I should consider it in my diet.

Thanks

I would definitely include it in my carb count.

I don't know what you mean when you say "it isn't a carb powder or anything" - because it's carbohydrates no matter what you call it. And it's dextrose I believe....carbs plain and simple.

Ok, I just wasn't sure. You know how fiber is a carb but isn't included in total calories because it passes right through you? Same with some of the carbs found in protein bars? I thought that this may have been one of those situations.

I'm drinking 6L of water a day PLUS solutions (Cell Tech, black coffee, etc), so this stuff seems to pass right through me :) I think every hour I am in the can :)

That;s cool though, it adds to the calorie count.

Okay! I see what you mean now.

But no, this isn't one of those situations. The carbs in Cell-tech come from simple sugars (to give you an insulin spike)...so you would need to include this in your caloric totals for the day (whereas you wouldn't include fiber - but I would include the calories from sugar alchohols - which are generally the carbs found in "low-carb" protein bars...because while they do not cause much of an insulin response...they are still calories).
