Asynchronouse, I hope you know that I wasn't being serious before about the Grade A,B,C stuff. I guess my sense of humour doesn't translate very well. This time I will be serious.
The 'Boxer's Diet' (a.k.a: lemon juice diet, master cleanse) you have mentioned is
not a diet. It is, infact, a cleansing routine used in conjuntion with a 10 to 40 day fast.
Consuming cayenne, even in small doses, can cause burning of the mouth and throat. It is also an extreme irritant to the GI tract. Anyone with ulcers, heartburn or gastritis should avoid cayenne.
Lemon juice will act as a loosening agent (laxative).
The syrup is used to provide a source of extremely limited calories. (105 calories (2 tablespoons) per day)
While a short-term fast (4 days maximum)
may have certain benefits to some people, long-term fasts as outined with this 'cleansing' are not recommended. Especially without the supervision of a physician.
Possible side effects:
- dehydration (sometimes severe)
- diarrhoea
- dizzyness
- headaches
- anxiety attacks
- extreme weight loss
- lower body temperature
- lower blood pressure
- reduced or rapid heart rate
- difficulty breathing
- gallstones
- potassium deficency
- heart arrhythmia
- build-up of keytones
- kidney failure (long fasts)
- extreme lethargy
- nausea / vomiting
- rare enzyme deficiency (MCAD) leading to an inability to process fatty acids
- insomnia
- coated tongue
- increased body odour
- increased discharge from mucous membranes
- skin rashes
- gout
While it is great that you are looking at various sources of information on nutrition/diets, this course of action (fasts) is something you do not need. The information I and others gave you at this link
Getting Started is all you need to concentrate on for now. You don't need to seek-out other people's diets in order to make them your own. Just spend seven days keeping track of what you currently eat and then have a look at the foods you can eliminate and or replace with better choices. It really isn't that difficult if you spend some time at at and there are lots of people here who will help you along the way. Also, these seven days will tell you and everyone else just how committed you are to changing your physique. If you can't give us seven days then we will know you weren't serious.
