Thanks babydoc!! I have a few ??.. What are OCP's (oral contraceptive progesterone)? For pain the dr. gave me some Vioxx and it seems to be the only thing that has helped.. Motrin 800 and Ibuprofen 800, Hydrocodone, they only made me sick and sleepy but when I awoke the pain was still there. Now this procedure that you are referring to is it somewhat like Myolysis or Uterine Artery Embolization?

Endometriosis

I just went through this myself. I had severe cramps and the mood swings were horrendous (still are a little).

My doc did the same thing by switching pills a thousand times without any results. The last was orth-tri but like KB was gaining weight and in the end had to stop due to high blood pressure.

The laporoscopy (spelling?) was an out patient surgery to check for endometriosis and cysts. I've had several of these over the years as I had a cyst removed at an early age. Anyway, the surgery is really no big deal. They made two small incisions (one in the belly button and the other just below the bikini line). They insert instruments which allow them to view your insides more closely than an ultrasound. Basically you are put under and hour or so later you're in recovery. If they find something they usually, if they can, take care of right then and there.

Should've been a gyno I think...:)

Since we are on the topic of BC pills, has anyone ever taken Nordette? I've been on these for almost 8 years. I first starting taking them in HS for my horrible cramps and heavy periods, not to mention LONG periods (like maybe a week in a half to two weeks). After I started them, I did gain weight. I think I am heavier than I actually would be without them. Just wondering if any of you ladies have ever taken them.

I'm not gonna start freaking myself out, although I'm not going to blow it off because what, WHAT if it did turn out to be something big? I mean, YEAH, I do want to have children with Pauly. But if I try this new BC and after a few months I still feel the cramping, I'll be sure to have it checked out for endometriosis:mix:

NB:

Myolysis and UAE are for fibroids and UAE is performed by a radiologist who then dumps all the post-procedure complications on the gynecologist...let's just say it's not all it's cracked up to be.

LUNA (Laparoscopic Uterosacral Nerve Ablation) is where, in the process of laparoscopy, cautery or laser is used to damage/destroy the uterosacral nerves, which carry most of the afferent (pain) fibers from the uterus/pelvis to the spine/brain.

Some good NSAID's (non-steroidals) are Ponstel (Mefanimic Acid) and Naprosyn.
Motrin and Ibuprofen are the same thing

Prozac 10-20mg has also been shown to help, why we don't know for sure.

So I just got back from the lady doc, and she put me on a different pill. This one is called Ovcon. I was taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen for the past 4 years, but the past 6 months I have been experiencing the absolute WORST lower back cramps. She said that no matter what pill you are on, you should hardly be experiencing cramping. I mean, the back cramping is getting worse as the months go on. So anyhoo, she said with this pill, there should be no weight gain :( and my body may like this pill........which means no cramps!:D Are any of my lady friends here on Ovcon?

Dunno if this will help, but I found this article on the Muscle and Fitness Hers website
