COPPER T . No Hormones, no nuttiness, no mood swings, ten years of protection, can be removed any time. Geez...there's no way I'd go through that emotional BS. I like being unpredictable to others, not myself. :D
that's me to a "T"! ...and I have no children (never been pregnant) ;)

I like your last statement, very cute!
I've heard great things about an IUD as well, but don't you need to have had a child?

Love, love, love my IUD. I also have a copper one - no hormones, nothing to remember, nothing to think about, love it!

I do believe that they recommend that only women who have had a child get an IUD, but it seems that's not the case with KEL?

Since I wrote my last post I remembered.. I had a Dr. a few years ago tell me in reference to an IUD,

"I DON"T put that in unless you have had a child."

I read the uterus might reject the foreign object otherwise. Of course, I also think I read this method is more common in Europe than the US, so maybe Dr.s are just more conservative about it here?

OK, maybe this isn't the place to get into specifics... but doesn't a string come down through the cervix - & isn't that strange? Even though you prob can't feel it, just knowing it was there would bug me. Isn't there an increased risk of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease with an IUD b/c of bacteria traveling up this little string? [not that any bc doesn't have risks...]

Doctors cut the strings short and tuck them

I was told this is a concern if you have multiple partners (IUD or not)

Nope - no pain what-so-ever. I had it inserted during a regular office visit and it felt no more painful than a pelvic exam.

I cannot feel the string at all (unless I put my finger in there and fish around a bit ;) ) My husband says he can feel it occasionally during sex, but it doesn't bother him.

Thanks for the link, Kel. That's a very informative thread.

Spatts... I noticed on that thread back in August that you were uncomfortable with the idea of an IUD & now you have one. Did that thread get you thinking about it?

This has actually gotten me thinking about it! Funny since I'm about to start a new pill (old one was still giving me break-thru bleeding like 1.5 - 2 weeks a month after 4 mos). I've been moodier the past 3 weeks with NO hormones than I was before with that lo-dose pill. Maybe my estrogen is so low naturally that I had *more* syn-estrogen with the pill & was thus happier/less emotional on it?!

azia baby.... no IUD for u....:( stick with the nasty disgusting pills for now. i was on ortho-tri for a couple yrs and gained a lot of weight... it SUXED! now im not on anything.......

XOXO!!
