Anticatabolic Supps?

That's the way I feel too. I wouldn't blow my money on HMB, even if I was dieting. Glutamine works the best and is something your body needs anyway. Apart from all the anabolic/anti-catabolic associated effects of glutamine, it also helps promote proper gastrointestinal function. With all the shit I put in my body, having that effect is a plus.

go with glutamine its a cortisol blocker(within reason),good for the gasrointestinal and its food for your immune system...phophatidylserine is waaaaaaaay to expensive for the amount you really need.....h.m.b. has its moments when you are restricting calories(dieting)...also make sure you have a good multivitamin/mineral supp.....and take z.m.a (zinc, magnesium,b6)before bed:sleeping:

HMB also works for people that are just starting exercise program.
not just reduced cal. hey, works better than liquid creatine.

Is ZMA really worth taking, i've read a lot of conflicting reports on it. I almost bought some at the weekend but held back until I could find out if it really made much of a difference. (I know people react differently, but what's the concensus?).

In my opinion, someone just starting out has no need for a supplement like HMB. They have no clue what they're doing. All they need is a multivitamin and to eat. Perhaps a protein powder, but that's it. It's just a waste for someone who's a novice.
And as far as liquid creatine is concerned, I don't know if you were making a joke about it, but it is the biggest scam ever. LIQUID CREATINE ISN'T STABLE. End of story. It begins to degrad once it's been introduced to a liquid within like 20 minutes or so. Don't even think of wasting your money on a shit product like that.

Yes, I was joking about the liquid. As far as the HMB goes, he asked about anticatabolic supplements. so I gave a few. (earlier post) and come on....how hard is it for someone to take HMB anyway.you act as if you got to inject the stuff. I agree with you on that there is other supps that do a better job and are less expensive, but to say that hmb is a wast is not true. I'm saying it is the icing on the cake, not the cake itself. It is anticatabolic and it lowers cholesterol. So I see Hmb working for low carb or low cal diet, people just starting out, or people just starting out and who are up in age.

L-glutamine, BCAAs and PS( though too expensive)

Instead of L-Glutamine, you might wanna try Trans-Alanyl-Glutamine (TAG). I heard it has a better absorbtion rate than regular L-Glutamine. It is put out by Metabolic Nutrition.
