4 Days Straight=bad For Growth?

DAHULK

New member
For the past month i've been working out Mon-Thurs, fri, sat, & sun. off. I just read on some post that working out 4-5 days straight is not really good to maximize good growth? Is this true? What do your workout schedules consist of? This is mine.........

Mon.- Legs/Abs

Tues. - Arms

Wed.- Chest/Back/

Thurs. - Shoulders/Abs

Fri. - Off

Sat. - Abs

Sun. - Off.

I'd get at least one off day in there. You gotta remember that growth occurs when the body is at rest, NOT when working. That's why so many vets and pros out there stress the importance of sleep and off days. Go two days in a row, long as you divide upper and lower body, but get one rest day in after that.

Thanx, i think i'm gonna be taking a day off after the 1st 2 days. I feel like if i'm dragging by the 3rd day sometimes. Thanx for the response!

If you are training with BIG weights that type of routine will hurt gains of hypertrophy, not only does your CNS need a break but after 4 days of serious weight training your ATP stores would be virtually non-existent which will put any anabolic process to a halt.

so bascially the stronger you are and the more training experience that you have the more detremental that type of routine is.

Bodybuilding Routine I did:

Sunday: off
Monday: legs
Tuesday: chest
Wednesday: off
Thursday: Back
Friday: Shoulders, bic, tric

Current Strength Training routine

Sunday: ME lower and all events
Monday: Off
Tuesday: Off
Wednesday: DE lower
Thursday: Off
Friday: DE upper
Saturday: Off

I always find it's far better to do a 1 day off 1 day on rather than 3 days on 2 days off routine.

Either a 3 or 4 day a week routine works best for me...3 for mass, 4 for definition-the main difference being calorie expenditure.
